The female factor Project – Haleigh of Hush Hush Little Baby

Have you ever met somebody who just radiates inner peace and serentity ? Who you just know you can trust INSTANTLY? That’s Haleigh.

Shes the founder of Hush Hush Little Baby, a newborn overnight care agency. I really wish I had met Haleigh years ago when I was a new mom. Lets face it we need help after birth yet we’re all a bit overprotective when it comes to our newborns, especially when its our first baby. However, not everybody has the support system needed for both mother and baby to come home from the hospital and be able to recoup mentally and physically.

I didn’t, yet I also did not know where to turn for help.

If I had met Haleigh back then I’m certain she would have been my saving grace in those first few crazy weeks after having my babies. Certain people you just get that inner feeling you can trust them to handle things for you, and that’s the feeling you get when you talk to Haleigh. I spent a wonderful day with her down at the beach watching her with her son and learning all about overnight newborn care.

By the time the sun went down I was a raving fan, completely convinced all new moms need her services. In fact all my newborns mommas now get Haleighs card and information along with my own.

Please take some time, get to know Haleigh who is as beautiful inside as she is outside.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING ?

“After being a professional nanny for 9 years I felt it was time to start my own agency, focusing on newborn care. Newborn care holds a specialist place in my heart, especially after the birth of my son Axel. I am an Advanced Certified Newborn Care Specialist and also Founder and President of Hush Hush Little Baby in Washington DC, Tampa, Florida and Austin, Texas.”

“I am also Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Davis Moon Project, a Not for Profit that aides a small rural village in Arbegona, Ethiopia. Our organization to date has provides 6,000+ books and countless amounts of school supplies to the Davis Moon Project School. We also contribute learning materials to The Government run orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.”

WHAT FEMALE INSPIRES YOU NOW AND AS A CHILD? WHY ?

“My mother would be the answer to both of these questions. I admire my mother more than she would ever know, especially after the birth of Axel. Axel is only 4 months old, but I know how much she has sacrificed over the past 26 years to better the lives of my brother and I, just as I would do for my son. My mother is the most selfless person I know, she gives more of herself than anyone else in my life. I truly look up to my mother and I want to be just as amazing for my children. Being a mother is a choice, though it is not easy. It is hard work every single day, but it is the most rewarding job I could ever imagine and I would not change a single thing. ”

WHATS YOUR GREATEST DREAM ?

“Some days I feel like I am living my dream. As a young girl I dreamed to marry an amazing man, have children and have to opportunity to stay at home and raise them. I have married an amazing man and am blessed to stay at home with my son while running my business! I feel blessed every day.”

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT ?

“My greatest accomplishment is starting my own business and continuing to successfully run in in three cities. It was not without errors in the beginning, but I continued to push through and I am so proud of what I have created.”

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR ?

“I think like many my biggest fear is failure. What if my business goes under? What I am a terrible mother? Obviously these fears are not true and of course I am not a terrible mother and my business is doing great. I try to not let these fears creep up and keep pushing through every day.”

DO YOU HAVE A CASUE YOU SPEAK UP FOR?

“I do, I feel literacy in impoverished countries is very important, and that is why I co-founded The Davis Moon Project. When we take the time and provide education for young children, their chances of succeeding and bringing themselves out of poverty increases.”

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR SON? TELL US ABOUT HIM !

“I love my son’s smile. The innocence behind it is infectious. No matter how stressful of a day I could be having, one little smile from his face just makes everything better. He is truly a joy in my life.”

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO DO FOR HIM DIFFERENTLY FROM HOW YOU WERE RAISED?

“I think it is hard to say something I would do differently as I know everyone has different child rearing beliefs and my parents raised my brothers and I the best they could. I only hope to raise my children to the best of my abilities.”

WHAT DO YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU?

“My heart is truly in the work I do in Ethiopia. Every time I visit and spend time in the orphanage I feel like I leave a little piece there. I pray daily that God will guide me to make the choice as a family to bring home a forever child one day, whenever that day may be.”

WHAT IS THE GREATEST ADVISE YOU COULD GIVE TO YOUNGER FEMALES?

“You can only be the woman you are meant to be. At some point you must block out who others think you should be and become the woman you want to be. Or else who are you living for?”

TELL US ABOUT RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS IN YOUR LIFE.

“I think something as easy as being a friend that just listens is something I try to do often. So many times it is easy to begin thinking about what you are going to say next instead of just listening.”

HALEIGH I REALLY FEEL STRONGLY ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO, AND I HOPE TO ENCOURAGE WOMEN TO SEEK OUT NEWBORN SERVICES. SO TELL US MORE ABOUT HUSH HUSH LITTLE BABY. WHO SHOLD SEEK OUT NEWBORN CARE AND WHY ? ITS NOT JUST FOR THE RICH AND FAMOUS ANYMORE BUT IM AFRAID A LOT OF MOTHERS PUT THEIR NEEDS LAST. ID LIKE TO HELP CHANGE THIS

“Hush Hush Little Baby sole mission is to empower new families. Whether families need assistance balancing life with a new baby through education, lactation assistance or just someone along the way to be their non judgmental support, we can provide ladies to assist with those needs. HHLB also has ladies with advance training in preemie care, multiples care, and postpartum depression. These ladies are trained in newborn care and are well versed in the needs of newborns and mothers. So many families think they cannot afford care, or having a “baby nurse” like you mention is for the rich and famous, but it is so far from that. We have plans to fit any household budget and we never want a new mother to feel lost or scared. We even offer a special deployment rate for families who’s spouse is overseas and Mom is home alone with a new baby. We offer both night and day support to families who have babies from birth to 6 months.

It is best to arrange care at least a month in advance, or at least begin the interview process. We have 3 levels of care, and we have many caregivers within each level of care. When a family arranges care in advance is makes the process smoother. However, we have plenty of last minute requests and that is okay too. For many families they may not realize the struggles until they are in the thick of things say 4 weeks in. We welcome any family to contact us at any point in time during the newborn period, even if they just need 1 night assistance.”
